About Shamrock
Vineyard
Shamrock
Vineyard would like to welcome you to the first successful
wine-grape planting in
The
idea was to see if grapevines would grow in a climate not perfectly
suitable for the cause. And to their surprise some
did. In the
beginning, the grapes went to home winemakers and wineries until 1984,
when
Shamrock became a bonded winery. To date, more than 25
varieties have
been planted and the most winter-hardy have survived.
French-American
hybrids, labrusca, and some vinifera make up the acreage which are
crafted and
tended into Chateau Shamrock wines.
Today,
the legacy, wines, and vines are now being cared for by the watchful
hands of grandson Thomas Van S. Creasap after Dr. Tom's passing in
March
2006 and Mary's in January of 2010. Shamrock Vineyard will be
celebrating its 26th year of
operation in
2010.
About the Marion Area Humane Society
The mission
of the Marion Area Humane Society is to
"Partner People and Animals in
a
Positive Manner". Whether it is making sure an adopter gets partnered
with
the perfect pet to fit his or her lifestyle, or educating someone on
the proper
care of a pet, the Marion Area Humane Society wants to promote positive
interactions between humans and animals. They hope that through
education we
can increase the retention rate of all pets and also help limit the
overpopulation in
The
Marion Area Humane Society depends
solely
on donations to operate and place animals in loving
homes.
Monetary donations
are always welcome, but other items are necessary to maintain the
facility and
take care of the adoptable animals. Follows is a list of
items that are
needed. We will be accepting donations at the Bark and Wine.
